RAWALAKOT: (Parliament Times) Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ National Party leader Syed Zia Ahmed Shah has said that struggle and sacrifices of Maqbool Butt were beacon light for every oppressed and occupied nation.In his statement on the eve of 35th martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri leader, he said Shaheed Maqbool Butt started his mission as a loner but soon thousands followed in his footprints.
He said Maqbool Butt was an ideologue, statesman, warrior, political leader and a diplomat who led the Kashmiris on all fronts and even sacrificed his life for the Kashmir cause.Zia Ahmed Shah while paying rich tribute to the veteran Kashmiri leader said the Indian state not only hanged Maqbool Butt, but also buried him in an improper manner.He urged international community to press for the return of mortal remains of Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Afazal Guru Shaeed to their motherland for a proper burial.The JKPNP leader said 35th martyrdom anniversary of freedom leader Maqbool Butt will be observed with the firm determination to continue the Kashmir liberation struggle till the achievement of right to self-determination.He said today (Monday) his party has chalked out number of programs to pay homage to the great Kashmiri leader for his matchless sacrifice for motherland.Zia Shah said that through protest demonstrations, rallies and seminars attention of the civilized world would be invited towards the deteriorating human rights situation in the occupied valley.
