MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The 7th quarterly meeting of Regional Coordination Committee of Waseela Taleem Program of BISP, chaired by Regional Director Raja Kaleemullah Khan, was held here on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed the performance and successes achieved of Waseela Taleem Program. Khan felicitated Dr. Sania Nashtar at being new head of poverty alleviation coordination council and expressed hoped that she would help formulate better policies to reduce poverty in the State. He told participants of the meeting that recently IMF termed the performance of BISP satisfactory and to the international standard.
Khan applauded the professional competency of officials of Waseela Taleem from different districts for achieving 100% targets set for the period September to December 2018. He told that BISP issues stipends to the children of its beneficiaries studying at public and registered institutions. In this context he asked Additional Secretary Education (ASE) to address as regulatory authority the issues of registration of schools on priority basis to enable the children to benefit from the program.
On this occasion ASE Saleem Gardezi who specially attended the meeting, appreciated the role and performance of BISP for waging a war against poverty for underprivileged classes of the society. Hinting on economic and financial problems of the people in the society as a whole he said BISP was doing great job to solve their financial problems to some extent.
