Lahore : Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baoch, has said that the federal government had not fulfilled its commitments in regard to the tribal areas’ merger with the Khyber P. He was talking to tribal leaders from Bajaur, Mehmand and Khyber P. who called on him at Mansoora on Monday.
Liaqat Baloch impressed upon the federal government and to promptly release the Rs. 100 billion package to restore the infrastructure of the tribal areas in order to overcome their backwardness.
Besides, he said, the legal vaccum in the areas should be filled and the process for the election to the National and the provincial assemblies seats from the area, be started. At the same time, he said, the provision of all constitutional rights including education and economy should be ensured.
He said that the tribal areas had offered huge sacrifices for the abolition of the notorious FCR and the constitutional, legal and basic rights and the tribal districts were a strong defense of the country.
