Rawlalpindi: (Parliament Times) The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board ‘s anti-encroachment drive has been going on in different areas as per the directions of apex court. The Cantonment Board officials on Tuesday demolished 17 illegally constructed shops on Railway Road whereas notices have been issued to the shop owners directing them to remove encroachments voluntarily.
On the other hand Board officials have ceased 4 trucks of different items and took into custody counters, benches and hand-carts from vendors who had setup their stalls illegally on roads and pathways in different markets of Sadar, Railway Road, Bakra Mandi, Pirwadai and surrounding areas of the city.
Meanwhile, Food Branch officials of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) visited different areas and issued show cause notice to owners of different eateries/food outlets operating without licenses. According to a press release the food branch officials during their visit to Chuhar Chowlk, Peshawar Road, Allabad and Sadr areas inspected 20 food points out of which 16 were issued notices for substandard cleanliness at work places and operating without licenses. The statement added that the inspection team collected 10 food samples from different eateries and sent them to laboratory for test.
