Rawalpindi: Punjab teachers including Rawalpindi are still waiting for their compensations for duties in the primary and middle standard annual examinations held in February.
According to media reports, Secretary Education Punjab has twice assured in writing and ordered education officers to clear dues of the teachers but more than 130000 tutors are still awaiting their compensation , said sources.
“Now Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) has once again informed the education authorities about the situation and demanded to pay the teachers’ dues. The association has also convened its meeting in coming days,” sources added.
PTU secretary general Kashif Shahzad Chaudhry has warned that if the situation persists, then it would be difficult for teachers to do their duties in next examinations.
