Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered to remove name of Prime Minister special assistance on oversees Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari from the Exit Control List (ECL).
A divisional bench of the IHC comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar while giving the reserved judgment in the case ordered to remove name of Zulfi Bukhari from the ECL on Wednesday.
It is vital to mention here that upon interior ministry orders decision had been taken to put name of Zulfi Bukhari, the special assistance to PM on oversees Pakistanis on ECL.
Bukhari, after that approached the IHC for the removal of his name from the ECL.
Court while issuing notices to respondents had sought reply from them.
Court had reserved the judgment on December 4 after hearing the arguments of respondents in the case.
Last day court while giving the reserved judgment in the case ordered to remove his name from the ECL.
It merits a mention here that NAB officials have launched an inquiry against Bukhari regarding his assets and offshore companies in foreign country.
Petitioner tried to go outside country to file documents in the case; however, he could not satisfy the NAB after which his name was put on the ECL.
Bukhari had approached the IHC after interior ministry refused to allow him for going outside the country for the attainment of his documents.
