Lahore: An Accountability Court (AC) has reserved the verdict on petition seeking extension in the physical remand of opposition leader in the National Assembly and PML (N) President Shehbaz Sharif in Ashiana Housing scam.
NAB officials presented the Shehbaz Sharif before the AC after completion of his 7 day long transit remand.
The AC judge Syed Najam -Ul -Hasan conducted the hearing of case seeking extension in the physical remand of Shehbaz Sharif.
Counsel of NAB informed the court that a questionnaire was given to Shehbaz Sharif on Nov 19.
There were queries about suspicious transactions in the questionnaire.
Shehbaz had replied that he will give reply after consulting his Counsel but he didn’t file any reply of the questions till yet.
NAB Counsel further said that Shehbaz Sharif handed over written replies to us a day before wherein he said that he had given gifts worth Rs 60 million. His total income is 20.5 million.
During the course of proceeding, Shehbaz said that, “I want to tell facts to the court upon it court ordered him to remain quiet at the moment and give reply later.
NAB Counsel prayed court that as further investigation is needed from Shehbaz Sharif therefore his physical remand should be extended.
Counsel of Shehbaz opposed the pray of NAB for more physical remand saying that 55 days have passed and NAB could not prove anything against his client.
Amjad Pervaiz further said that NAB didn’t complete any investigation till yet adding the gifts worth Rs 60 million which have been given is not an offence .
