ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has decided to hire eight thousand six hundred workers in different cadres to improve its efficiency.
An official of the Railways Ministry told that Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the summary for hiring of these workers and their recruitment process will be initiated shortly.
He said around eleven thousand skilled workers are needed on emergency basis to improve performance of Pakistan Railways. He said the ministry has already hired around two thousand workers.
The official said people seeking jobs in their native districts would be given preference over residents of other areas and all the appointments would be made purely on merit.
He said a summary to regularize the services of workers, employed on a contract basis under the Prime Minister’s Package, will also be shortly sent for approval.
