Islamabad: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Saturday said China is not indifferent to the problems of Pakistan.
China has remained the best friend and it has always played an unforgettable role in stability and prosperity of Pakistan, it said. Pakistan is facing a budget deficit and other serious issues but China will never leave us alone, said VP FPCCI Karim Aziz Malik.
Talking to the business community after a recent visit to China, he said that he met a number of top officials and leading businessmen including Huang Kunming, head of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China and a member of the Politburo who were genuinely concerned about Pakistan. All the Chinese officials were not only concerned about Pakistan but also willing to cooperate to stabilize our economy, he added.
Beijing also wants to import more from Pakistan to improve the balance of trade between two brotherly countries, he informed. Karim Aziz Malik said that it is very heartening to know that China is preparing an economic package for Pakistan which will be bigger than the Saudi package. He said that Pakistan will be the biggest beneficiary of the One Belt One Road initiative as twenty percent of the total sum allocated for the project in being invested in Pakistan which will improve economy and standard of living of the people.
China has accepted Pakistan’s demand to include more countries in the project on which Islamabad and Beijing will hold talks next month. Chairman Coordination FPCCI Malik Sohail said that China will promote Pakistani agriculture and industry in the second phase of CPEC which will boost our economy.
