Islamabad : Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, National History & Literary Heritage Division, Shafqat Mahmood visited Head office of National Book Foundation (NBF) Islamabad. At this auspicious occasion, Federal Secretary of National History and Literary Heritage Division, Engineer Aamir Hassan and Managing Director NBF, Dr. Inamul Haq Javeid welcomed him.
In the Conference Room, Managing Director, NBF briefed the minister about the performance and functions of the Foundation. The Federal Minister was briefed about the General Books, Textbooks, Readers Book Club, Shehr-a-Kitab established at Jinnah Super Market, Brail Complex setup in Karachi and other activities of NBF.
After the meeting and briefing, he visited National Book Museum and saw the rare collection of books as well as The Qur’an Gallery there. He also visited main NBF Bookshop. He was told that this bookshop has a collection of more than twenty thousand books along with addition of NBF Textbooks and other books according to increasing demand.
Federal Minister, Shafqat Mahmood got the membership in Readers Book Club office, where the members can avail an opportunity of 55% discount on purchasing books. Federal Minister planted a sapling in NBF Book Park under the, “Clean and Green Pakistan” Campaign.
