Karachi: Contrary to all claims of police extortion of money is still prevalent in Lyari.
The motor biker accused managed to flee after delivering a chit of Rs one million to a businessman on the name of commander of gang war. Police showed ignorance on the incident.
According to sources Karachi police officials have made claims on several occasions that extortion of money has been curbed but three such incidents have happened last week.
According to sources an unknown person on motorcycle has delivered a chit in the Baghdadi area to a prominent businessman demanding extortion of Rs one million otherwise get ready for dire consequences. On the chit there was the name of gang war commander Wasi Allah Lakhu and an international number to inform about the date of payment. The panic gripped the area following the recent incident.
On the other hand police is unaware of the incident saying if someone is given the chit then he should contact police. Police said they are getting information through media but none of the businessmen has contacted them in the police station.
