The Govt must make it clear as what it has offered to government of China in return for its massive investment. To ensure transparency the Govt must put all things in front of the public. Interest rate and the terms and conditions should be put forward as if such things are not measured at an early stage then there are chances that Pakistan might become the next Sri Lanka whose coastal areas are taken by the Republic of China.
And the doubts regarding the addition of Saudi Arabia as a third member(2nd Beneficiary) of the OBOR project of China must not be overlooked. As Saudi Arabia is involved in such activities that are being Criticized by the human rights agencies. Such recent acts include the Saudi-coalition war on Yemen that has claimed 10000 lives and world’s worst human crisis has been declared there. Other activities are blockade of Qatar, imprisonment of women rights activists, rise in executions, and the missing and murder of Jamal Khashoggi.
So when Saudi will become part of it Pakistan will have to support all of its acts knowingly that they are none other atrocities because Saudis will be funding in the development of infrastructure that Pakistan is in need of.
Pakistan should not totally rely on its ’emerging’ partner, Americans are better than the Chinese as they do not pose any threat to the lives and future of the citizens. But Chinese have a different mindset they might be thinking of to start another era of colonization and Pakistan would be its beginning.
