Rawalpindi: Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi has decided to conduct anti-encroachments’ operation at night too.
According to media reports, special teams have been constituted for carrying out operation against encroachments’ in 3 shifts.
Operation against encroachments that was conducted in two shifts has now increased to three and one more team of anti-encroachments staff members have been set up in Municipal Corporation in the supervision of Chief Officer Shafqat Raza and district officer regulation Peer Shehzad Gohar.
Third shift will conduct operation in the night and operation will be carried out in the commercial areas only to avoid resistance of traders.
Municipal Corporation said that warning has already been issued to businessmen for demolition of encroachments and shades at their own outside the shops and now implementation will be geared up.
Notices have been issued to more than 700 shopkeepers in different areas of the city.
However, Rawalpindi cantonment board has demolished 12 illegal shades and 38 stoops while carrying out anti-encroachment operation.
On the other hand, Chaklala Board has demolished more than 200 illegal shops.
