Islamabad : States Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi on Saturday made a surprise visit to Koral police station.
The State Minister met the persons in lock up and sought a report regarding arrest of a young boy illegally from IG Islamabad. Entry of visitors in the police station was banned on the arrival of Afridi.
The state minister for interior took strong notice of illegally arrested persons and expressed resentment over police performance. He cursed Station House Officer Koral police station Inspector Qasim for keeping a child illegally in lock up.
The inspector failed to satisfy the state minister over the arrests as he didn’t have solid proofs against the nabbed persons.
Police stations are made for public facilitation not to punish people for what they don’t do, he said. He heard problems of the prisoners in the police station and order immediate solution of their problems.
Afridi directed the police station staff to present a report after resolving problems of the people. The children were arrested by police while allegedly riding motorcycles illegally. The boys were already imposed challan. The children said that they were not put in the lock up before this.
