MUZAFFARABAD:(Parliament Times) 13-day anti-cholera drive launched by AJK Public Health department kicks off here on Thursday.
The deputy commissioner Muzaffarabad while chairing a meeting disclosed that all arrangements for the drive had been finalized. The meeting was told that 1,08,718 children from 9 months to 5 years would be applied anti cholera vaccination in district Muzaffarabad during the drive. The meeting was told that trained staffers have been deployed for the campaign. It decided that mobile teams of Public Health department would not only create awareness about the menace of cholera but also vaccinate the school children on spot during the drive. Children would be vaccinated at all the entry points too.
Deputy Commissioner Muzaffarabad division Masoodur Rehman told that two control rooms would be set up for this purpose. He said all measures would be taken to make the drive a success.
The meeting was attended by SSP Muzaffarabad Raja Akmal Khan, additional deputy commissioner Muzaffarabad Syed Ashfaq Gillani, district health officer Dr. Kamran Dar, Dr. Zahid Iqbal Awan, Dr. Nawab from WHO, and others.
