Lahore: PML-N leader and accused in ephedrine case Hanif Abbasi has been shifted to Kot Lakhpatt jail Lahore from Attock jail.
IG prisons Punjab Shahid Baig has confirmed his shifting to Lahore jail.
IG Prisons said that Hanif Abbasi was suffering from heart disease during his imprisonment in Adiala jail, upon which he was shifted to a local hospital where a stent had been inserted but he was not completely well and in case of any emergency there was no big hospital in Attock.
He said, therefore, he has been shifted in Lahore.
It merits to mention here that convicted Hanif Abbasi was awarded life imprisonment in ephedrine case on July 21 .
He was in Adiala jail but he was shifted to Attock jail after the matter of his presence in the room of Adiala Jail Supdt on the occasion of release of Nawaz Sharif due to suspension of his sentence in Avenfield reference surfaced .
