“25 food points issued notices for substandard cleanliness”

Sawera Zahir, Rawlalpindi: The Cantonment Executive officer on Tuesday issued afresh directives to concerned authorities urging them to ensure proper cleanliness on all mourning procession routes and Imambargahs in the Cant area besides removing hurdles, if any, in their ways.
The Cant Board spokesman Qaisar Mehmood said that the authorities have also been ordered to arrange proper street lighting and supply of water to facilitate the mourners. He said that the Cantonment Hospital will remain vigilant round the clock whereas enforcement officials have been put in standby state to meet any emergency situation.
Meanwhile, the Food Branch officials of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board visited different areas of the city and took effective notice of the lack of proper cleanliness at various food points. During their visit to Dhoke Syedan and Sadar areas the Food Branch officials have issued notices to the owners of food points for substandard cleanliness and working without licenses. According to a spokesman 28 food points were checked out of which 25 food points were issued notices for substandard cleanliness at work places and for operating without licenses. He said that show cause notices were issued to the owners whereas sample of 15 edible items have been taken and sent to the laboratory for tests.
The spokesman said that the Food Branch officials ceased “Frutty Pops brand” expired Juice from Punjab Cash and Carry and a penalty of Rs. 30,000 was slapped on it.
The spokesman said that enforcement staff has been visiting different areas of the city to keep a close eye on the Encroachment Mafia. He said that day and night patrolling his going on in the city to make sure that nobody acts against the law. Mehmood said that during its anti-Encroachment Drive the Cantonment Board officials have ceased 5 trucks of different items from vendors who had setup their stalls illegally on roads in different markets of Sadar, Bank Road, Peoples Colony Dhoke Syedan and surrounding areas of the city.
