London: Ben Raine will rejoin Durham from Leicester shire following the end of the current English domestic season, having signed a three-year deal with the club where he made his first-class debut and also spent four years in their academy.
Having played more than four seasons for Leicester shire, Raine refused a contract extension with the club and also asked them to release him for the next season – for which he is already contracted.
“I’m delighted to be returning home and signing for Durham,” Raine told the Durham’s official website. “I’m passionate about the region and determined to help the club compete for silverware again.
“I’m extremely grateful to Leicestershire and the opportunity they have given me and for their understanding in me wanting to move back to the North East.”
“The last six years at Leicester have been incredible. They took a gamble on me, invested time and effort into my game and life, and I will always be grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given by the club.”
