Karachi: A delegation of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists and Karachi Union of Journalist has met the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar in his chamber.
During the meeting Chief Justice was informed about the problems faced by the media industry. In the written application to Chief Justice the delegation implored that several TV channels and newspapers have not been paying salaries and balance amounts and the employees had been forced to face starvation. Retrenchments of journalist from different institutions continue and new Wage Board Award is not forthcoming.
On this occasion Chief Justice assured the delegation that every possible step will be taken to solve the problems of journalists and media employees.
The delegation was led by PFUJ Secretary General G. M. Jamali. The delegation includes President KUJ Hassan Abbas, General Secretary Aajiz Jamali, Assistant Secretary General APENK Shehr Bano, Senior Journalists Salik Majid and Nasir Butt.
The delegation thanked Chief Justice of Pakistan for taking personal interest for solving the problems of Journalist fraternity.
