Islamabad: Accountability Court (AC) hearing Al-Azizia Steel Mill and Flag ship Investment references has ordered to present former PM Nawaz Sharif before it on Monday, August 13.
As per media reports, Judge Muhammad Arshad Malik took up the references of National Accountability Beaureu (NAB) against ousted PM Nawaz Sharif for hearing on Thursday.
It is to be mentioned that Lahore High Court (LHC) while accepting Nawaz Sharif plea had transferred Al-Azizia steel Mills and Flag ship references from the court of Judge Muhammad Bashir to the court of Judge Muhammad Arshad on 7th August.
AC has already awarded punishment of 11 years in prison and fine to Nawaz Sharif, 7 years imprisonment along with fine to Maryam Nawaz while 1 year imprisonment to her husband Capt (R) Safdar.
At the inception of hearing, Jude Muhammad Arshad inquired from Deputy Prosecutor General NAB Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi that where the inquiry of both the cases have reached?
Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi told the court that only the statement of one witness is yet to be recorded after the head of JIT of PANAMA case Wajid Zia regarding Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference.
ëíThere are 3 accused in both references, Inquiry against Nawaz Sharif is underway while AC has declared his sons Hassan and Hussain proclaimed offenders due to their absence from the courtíí, he added.
Judge Muhammad Arshad Malik adjourned the further hearing of the case while ordering to present Nawaz Sharif in the court on Monday .
