Islamabad: (Parliament Times) President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan, has said that issues including construction of roads, the establishment of requisite water schemes, access to health and education facilities will be given utmost priority in order to facilitate the local population living in Azad Kashmir.
The President made these comments during a meeting with Sardar Riaz Roshan, senior PML(N) leader Poonch Division and Sardar Aashiq, President PML(N) Constituency IV Rawalakot who called on the President here at Jammu and Kashmir house.
The representatives informed the President of various issues faced by the locals of Poonch Division. The delegation apprised the President of ongoing projects and also requested that the designated building for a degree college in Tain which is currently unutilized may be-be made functional. They invited the President to visit Poonch Division and interact with the local people.
President Masood Khan while accepting the invitation of the delegation, said that AJK Government has its eyes set on developing infrastructure including uplift and construction of roads, providing universal access to health, promotion of tourism, industries and modernizing agricultural activity. He said that with a huge potential in power production, we are building a cascade of dams throughout AJK which will not only address our growing energy needs but will also provide employment to the local populace.
The delegation also thanked the President on the recent appointment of Advisors and other staff at the Presidency. Both Riaz Roshan and Sardar Aashiq expressed their satisfaction with the appointments and being given adequate representation. They assured to extend their full support towards the welfare of the people.
President AJK stressed on actively working and intensifying our efforts towards raising the issue of Kashmir. He said that we must unify towards attaining the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people and freeing them from the brutal and oppressive Indian occupation in IOK.
