ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of torching of girls schools in Diamir at Gilgit-Baltistan.
The CJP has sought reply from government of Pakistan, secretary Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan affairs and interior secretary within 48 hours on the incident of settling ablaze girls schools.
According to media reports some anti education elements had bombed and torched 12 girls schools in Diamir on Friday.
As per district administration some unknown miscreants tried to cause damage to under construction schools by setting them on fire. However the miscreants fled from the scene on initiation of action by police and administration. Raids are being conducted on various places to nab them.
On the other hand the citizens staged protest against the cowardly act of the anti education elements at Siddique Akbar chowk.
Terming the attack on schools as attack on the bright future of students, they said such heinous acts are unacceptable.
The care taker Prime Minister (PM) Justice (Retd) Nasir ul Mulk has condemned torching of girls schools and sought report about this incident.
The care taker PM said that those involved in this incident be identified and brought to justice.
