ISLAMABAD : Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital’s cardiac ward has been declared sub-jail for jailed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz was shifted to PIMS from Central Jail Rawalpindi to the medical facility on Sunday after he complained pain in hear and arms.
The notification was issued by Islamabad administration after the former prime minister was shifted to the hospital from Adiala jail on Sunday night. The deposed prime mister complained of plain in the chest and arms.
Earlier doctors at Adiala jail had requested the jail authorities to transfer him to hospital. Following the doctor’s advice, the caretaker government directed the jail administration to shift Nawaz to PIMS cardiac centre so his condition would not aggravate.
A doctor’s team at PIMS conducted some test of Nawaz Sharif on Sunday. However, further heart and kidney tests will be conducted on Tuesday. Talking to Online Senior Dr Nasir Gardazi said a team of doctors conducted some tests and their reports are yet to arrive. He said doctors at PIMS are showing special interest in the treatment of Nawaz Sharif. He said more tests will be conducted.
Meanwhile, the security of cardiac department of PIMS has been increased. Anti-terrorist squad will be deployed at main entrance of the cardiac department following the security threats.
