Lahore(Daily P.Times): Supreme Court also rejected the plea of Awami Muslim League’s Chief Shiekh Rashid Ahmed against ECP to postpone elections in NA 60 after LHC had also given verdict against him.
Supreme Court’s bench was headed by Chief Justice MIan Saqib Aisar , which on Tuesday discarded the application of Shiekh Rashid for holding elections in NA-60 as per schedule despite the punishment awarded to Hanif Abbasi .
Election Commission of Pakistan had announced to postpone the polls after special anti drugs court awarded life term PMLN’s candidate Muhammad Hanif Abbasi from the constituency NA-60 Rawalpindi in ephedrine quota case.
Earlier Rawalpindi Bench of Lahore High Court had also dismissed Sheikh’s plea challenging the order of the ECP to postpone elections in NA-60 Rawalpindi after conviction of Hanif Abbasi.
