ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered for appointing amicus curiae in the appeals filed against accountability court decision against Sharif family in Avenfield reference.
The IHC in its written order has directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to appoint amicus curiae.
The court has said in written order that NAB will also be heard besides arguments from defense counsel.
The hearing of petition seeking suspension of sentence of Sharif family has been adjourned till the last week of July.
The court in its written order has remarked that case should be fixed before available bench for hearing in the last week of July and volumes of appeals be prepared and presented.
The appeals of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son in law Capt (Retd) Safdar are fixed for regular hearing.
The legal advisor of Sharif family requested the court to set free Sharif family till the decision of appeals.
The court while regretting to give decision without hearing NAB rejected defense counsel plea.
Sharif family had challenged July 6 decision of Judge Muhammad Bashir of Accountability Court(AC) in IHC.
