Lahore: Appellate Tribunal (AT) has rejected the appeal against the approval of nomination papers of former Federal Minister for National Health Services Regulation Saira Afzal Tarar and allowed her to contest elections.
AT has declared the appeal plea non maintainable.
As per media reports, Justice Shahbaz Rizvi of AT took up the petition against the approval of nomination papers of Saira Afzal Tarar for hearing on Wednesday.
The petitioner Shaukat Bhatti took the stance in appellate tribunal that Saira Tarar had concealed the facts in her nomination papers and had not shown her assets.
He further said that she in not qualified to contest election under the article 62, 63 so it is requested to declare Saira Afzal Tarar not qualified to contest elections.
Election tribunal has rejected the appeal of the petitioner Shaukat Bhatti and allowed Saira to contest elections.
