LAHORE: Former President Gen (Retd) Pervez Musharraf could not return to Pakistan and he has sought more time from Supreme Court (SC) to come back to Pakistan.

Owing to non appearance of Pervez Musharraf , the court has withdrawn the interim permission regarding acceptance of his nomination papers.

The matter of return of Pervez Musharraf to Pakistan came up for hearing before a 4-member full bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar.

Qamar Afzal, counsel for Pervez Musharraf told the court that his client has sought time to appear before the court. Pervez Musharraf intends to come to Pakistan but he can not travel due to Eid holidays and prevailing situation.

SC had given time to Pervez Musharraf to appear before it till 2 p.m on Thursday but he instead of appearing in the court has sought more time on this count.

The court adjourned the proceedings on the matter of Pervez Musharraf return to Pakistan indefinitely.

Pervez Musharraf will not be able to participate in the general election 2018 due to withdrawal of its interim permission by SC regarding his nomination papers.
