MIRPUR (AJK): A state-of the art fully-furnished world-class hospital is being constructed by the government in Mirpur city of Azad Jammu Kashmir, said Ch. Muhammad Saeed, local MLA and minister for Sports, Youth and Culture.
“Ten canal piece of land worth Rs. 16 million has been purchased by the state health department in the town from Mirpur Development for construction of the grand public-sector hospital at the pattern of the Shifa International Hospital Islamabad”, Ch. Saeed said while speaking at a ceremony hosted by Pakistan Social Association, Azad Jammu Kashmir here Tuesday.
The minister said that construction of the grand hospital is being commenced soon.
He said that Rs. 110 million have been allocated for purchasing the latest equipment for the state-run Kashmir Institute of Cardiology in Mirpur. The KIC project was constructed and donated to the government by a late local philanthropist Haji Muhammad Salim about two decades ago.
Referring to his priorities for the face lifting of Mirpur city through the delivery of much awaited civic amenities including sui natural gas in rest parts of the model city, water supply and sewerage, Ch. Muhammad Saeed said that a stringent plan is being devised for implementation to ensure supply of all the above amenities of life in the city where people were facing shortage.
Ch. Saeed said that master plan of Mirpur city will be gotten restored through empowering the city Municipal Corporation as a vibrant and autonomous institution.
