Islamabad: The government recently presented amnesty scheme has failed to bear fruit as overseas Pakistanis have refused to bring black money in country and turn it into white.
Sources stated that not a single overseas Pakistani contact to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in this regard.
According to the government announced amnesty scheme if any Pakistani either from overseas or national want to white his money then no law regarding NAB, FBR and Income-tax implement on him. Moreover, no inquiry would be held from any Pakistani regard his amount.
Sources stated that government sent amnesty scheme to finance bill, however the concerned bill hasn’t passed yet.
While opposing the bill the National Assembly finance committee has given vote against the amnesty scheme. However, the Senate standing committee has given the approval of bill with amendment. “Morning Mail” contacted to the Spokesman of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Dr. Iqbal but he did not give any answer in this regard.
It was worth mentioned here that federal government failed to get two of its endorsed bills passed from the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance. The bills were tabled to seek the parliament’s nod for the tax amnesty scheme.
