Islamabad: Following the court decision of 60 % of government Hajj scheme for 2018, the Ministry of Hajj Affairs instead of filing a review petition has decided to hold balloting for rest of the quota.
For private Hajj scheme out of the new enrolled companies of 2000 for Hajj quota 1232 are legible and 751 new companies are ineligible under audit report whereas out of 770 companies 44 have been declared ineligible.
According to sources under 60 % government quota 4500 fortunate intending pilgrims will be chosen through second balloting.
According to Hajj policy intending pilgrims of over 80 years of age and those who remained unsuccessful constantly for 3 years will be approved without balloting. About 5200 applicants are above 80 years and with each applicant his family member will be sent as attendant. Likewise the applicants remained unsuccessful for constant 3 years are 12623 out of which 10000 will be chosen and for the remaining 4500 intending Hajjis quota balloting will be held.
According to sources the new and old companies declared ineligible will be given 15 days to submit their objections as well as completion of papers.
Current year a total number of 1,80000 fortunate pilgrims will perform Hajj.
