Islamabad:(Parliament Times) Voicing his serious concern over the continued bloodbath and mayhem in Kashmir the vice president of Democratic Freedom PartyMehmood Ahmed Saghar has urged the influential world governments to impress upon the government of India to put an immediate end to what he called the ceaseless slaughter of civilians by Indian forces in the valley.
Denouncing the killing of innocent civilians in Khudwani area of district Kulgam the DFP leader said, “Every inch of Kashmir’s soil has been drenched with innocent blood, this reckless violence and ceaseless slaughter of innocent civilians must come to an end”. He said It was quite disheartening to see that this macabre game of bloodbath goes on without any end in sight. He observed that there was nothing more appalling than the world community’s indifference towards the sufferings of Kashmiri people. Ruing international community’s silence on the issue he said “Barring a few condemnation statements no concerted effort is being made to stop this ceaseless slaughter of youths in the troubled valley or to hold India accountable for its crimes”.
Saghar said that it was incomprehensible as to why the civilized world and so-called human rights defenders remain unmoved by the sufferings of Kashmiris.
Urging the global community to heed the clarion call for a peaceful settlement of lingering dispute he said, ” Kashmiris are a peaceful nation; they want peace but peace with dignity and honour”. He said that India talks much of returning peace and normalcy in the state but the problem with the Indian state was that it wants peace of graveyard in Kashmir, the kind of peace when everyone who resists its illegal and forcible control over the territory is dead and buried.
“War is no solution to Kashmir issue, it is a bitter reality that India is trying to run away from but sooner or later the New Delhi will have to accept this ground reality that the genuine freedom movements could not be suppressed by the use of force, killing and maiming people and snatching their eyesight”, he said adding that India must bear in mind the fact that every bullet fired at Kashmiris and every drop of blood shed on the streets of the valley further cements the resolve masses of Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, the DFP office bearers meeting was held here on Thursday, which was chaired by vice president Mehmood Ahmed Saghar. The meeting expressed serious concern over the continued detention and deteriorating health condition of incarcerated Party Chairman Shabir Ahmed Shah.
