ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has given one month time to the government for bringing back Hussain Haqqani to Pakistan.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has remarked “ no more delay will be tolerated in bringing back Hussain Haqqani to Pakistan.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by CJP Mian Saqib Nisar took up memogate scandal case for hearing on Wednesday.

During the hearing of the case CJP remarked “ no more delay will be tolerated in bringing back Hussain Haqani to Pakistan.

The chief justice remarked he was reckoning on banning on-air discussions over the Memogate scandal and summon all those in the court who want to give statements regarding the case
It may be that all are summoned through notice. People while sitting on TV say that dead issues are being dug out. What is like digging out dead issues in the matter of return of Hussain Haqqani.

He further observed people sit in TV programs for offering comments at night. No comments should be offered in the cases pending hearing in the courts. They can say what they will after the decision comes.

Additional Attorney General (AAG) told the court the copy of FIR against Hussain Haqani has been filed.

He prayed that the court should provide one more opportunity .

CJP remarked Hussain Haqqani had gone abroad after giving assurance to court that he will return. Implementing court’s orders is the job of government. No positive headway has been made so far that Hussain Haqqani would be brought back to Pakistan till what time.

Interior secretary told the court that documents from US have been received here a day before.

CJP remarked foreign secretary and interior secretary have not been called in connection with miscellaneous applications.

CJP inquired from DG FIA “ tell us you can give us results in how many days.
DG FIA told the court all possible resources will be utilized for bringing back Hussain Haqqani. After issuance of perennial warrants we will contact Interpol in connection with red warrants

I will go to US and services of a lawyer will also be hired therein, he added.
