ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has said he should have stayed away from Memogate case against Asif Ali Zardari.
“ I should have stayed away from memogate case against former president Asif Ali Zardari. I should have no link with memogate. Prime Minister (PM) nominates an ambassador and his name is being placed in ECL. Question arises who is doing all this”, he said this while talking to media men outside the Accountability Court (AC) here Tuesday.

He stated NAB law was framed by Pervez Musharraf. Musharraf established NAB under a specific agenda. NAB was mercilessly used against us before 2002. I fear NAB will now be used against us too like the past. NAB like law should be annihilated. All the laws enacted in martial law eras should be repealed all at once. I am realizing it badly today after experiments. A better law than NAB should be brought, he added.

He underlined “ I am not a man of signal. I have my own thinking and ideology and its price I am paying. I will not withdraw. I will not see towards umpire finger. Votes come through people finger rather than umpire finger. All the associates are standing with me. People and parliamentarians have become conscious. Now such tactics have no future. Election should not be delayed even for a single hour. I am reading what is being talked about doctrine, he remarked.

To a question about meeting between Javed Chaudhry and Chief Justice of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif said decisions are in the hands of chief justice. It takes what time to frame case. State wealth was spent where on my assets. If I have committed corruption then I should be told where I have committed corruption. I challenge NAB they should frame such case which should be accepted by people.

He remarked “ Musharraf sat in hospital without having any disease. Musharraf used to wave fists and punches saying Nawaz Sharif and Benazir would never return to Pakistan, he added.
