NEW YORK: Flag hoisting cermonies in connection with Pakistan Day celebrations were held at Pakistani missions in various countries.

Addressing a reception to mark Pakistan Day in New York, Pakistan’s Representative at the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi paid a rich tribute to Pakistani men and women serving as peacekeepers in the world body. She said Pakistan’s remarkable journey since the Pakistan Resolution was adopted has been powered by the spirit and resilience of the Pakistani people.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry, addrssing an impressive flag hoisting ceremony in Washington, urged Pakistani diaspora to continue to play its role as a bridge between the two countries.

In Ottawa, Pakistani High Commissioner Tariq Azim Khan hoisted the national flag at a simple but impressive ceremony.
