MIRPUR (AJK): Jamiat Ulema e Jammu Kashmir Chief and veteran religious scholar Sahibzada Pir Attique ur Rehman Faizpuri was laid to eternal rest at his ancestral graveyard in native village of Faizpur in Chakswari town in Mirpur district on Monday.

Thousands of people from various parts of Pakistan and AJK belonging to all spheres of life including the Prime Minister of AJK Raja Farooq Haider Khan attended the funeral prayer of the distinguished religious scholar-cum-politician, Sajaada Nasheen Aastana e Alia Faizpur Shareef who breathed his last here on Sunday after suffering cardiac arrest.

Speaking at the condolence reference on this occasion, AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan paid rich tributes to the deceased leader. The Prime Minister described his death as a great loss to the nation and the country including Azad Jammu & Kashmir – where he spent major portion of his life in preaching and promotion of the teachings of Islam and defending the ideology of last prophet hood of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

Expressing deep sense of shock and grief over the demise of the eminent religious scholar, Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that great life-time services of late Sahibzada Pir Attique ur Rehman Faizpuri for the cause of preaching Islam, upholding of the Islamic values and its teaching as the supreme religion of peace and harmony will always be remembered. Raja Faooq Haider prayed for the departed soul and grant of fortitude to the bereaved family and his admirers to bear the great loss with fortitude.
