ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the country’s top anti-corruption organization, on Sunday claimed that following Chairman NAB’s policy on ‘Accountability of All’ eradication of corruption has become voice of the whole nation.
“The whole nation has pinned hopes on NAB for ending their woes”, the NAB statement said adding the whole nation was lauding Chairman NAB for fulfilling his ticklish responsibilities excellently without any discrimination.
NAB has initiated complaint verifications against politicians, bureaucrats and ex-military officers across the board on alleged allegations of corruption. The indiscriminate action has increased the prestige of NAB manifold due to indiscriminate and visible action against the mighty as the aim of NAB is to apprehend the corrupt and deposit the looted amount in the national exchequer.
NAB has so far deposited a whooping Rs 289 billion in the national exchequer but also managed to maintain 76 percent ratio of awarding sentence to the corrupt which is compatible to any other corruption watchdog of any country. Terming NAB chief as a man of integrity and honesty the statement said that Justice Javed’s practical measures have been lauded by the whole nation. “The whole nation is with the NAB for elimination of corruption. It could be said that the brave steps of Justice Javed of indiscriminate measures against elimination of corruption have won laurels of all and sundry”, the statement added.
“Practical steps are being taken to eliminate the menace of corruption. Resultantly, the ratio of corruption has registered a marked decrease due to loud and clear message and measures of NAB. NAB has sought the details of contracts of Rs 50 million or above inked by public sector departments for scrutiny and verification.NAB also sent a clear message to big fish that it will concentrate on the case and not the face as all are equal before the law. NAB would concentrate on indiscriminate accountability to all”, the statement said.
The anti-graft body expressed the optimism that corruption will be totally eliminated from the country saying that Justice Javed Iqbal was actively working in fulfilling his mission of eliminating corruption.
