Islamabad : Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) management has devised a Business Strategic Plan to overcome the whooping losses and transform PIA into a profitable organization by the year 2020.
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan said Tuesday.
Addressing in offer letters distribution ceremony among newly hired cabin crew and talent development programme, he said the employees of PIA were not being sacked but plan was to engage them to perform their respective duties.
PIA management was pondering to reduce the prevalent taxes on tickets of PIA. New Islamabad International Airport would be inaugurated in the last week of April this year. He said Parliamentarians were not being given free tickets but the government payed ticket price on behalf of law makers.
He said the number of passengers of PIA had registered marked increase as comparing to last year. The safe journey of ATR air crafts was continuing in the country, he said adding that the services of Canadian manufacturing company had been hired for repair and maintenance of ATR air crafts.
The vigilance against narcotics smugglers was being tightened further at various airports of the country. Chief Executive Officer PIA, Musharraf Rasool Siyan, Chief Operating Officer Zia Qadir Qureshi, Chief Commercial Officer and other officers of PIA were also present on the occasion.
