Islamabad : The financial embezzlement worth billion of rupees in agreement of aircraft taken on lease has revealed.
According to official documents, 18 aircrafts were taken on dry lease while 19 aircraft on wet lease and 2 jumbo jet aircraft were taken on lease from air land Company. These aircrafts have not been included in the air fleet of PIA.
“Five aircrafts had been taken on leaser from Turkish company “Cordon Airlines” which are now returned to company while five more aircrafts had been taken on lease from another Turkish company “Pegasis”. Out of these aircrafts 4 are operational while one aircraft is returned to company”, document added.
During the regime of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, two aircrafts were taken on lease from Czychesulvakian companies Smart Wing and Travel Service.
The former government has acquired 3 aircraft on lease from Bulgarian company “Air Diya” which have been returned while one aircraft was taken on lease from the company of Jordon which is returned to company.
The Nawaz Sharif government had acquired 2 aircrafts from Malaysian company “Air Asia Access” which have been returned while one aircraft taken on lease from Sri Lankan company has also been returned.
The 19 aircraft taken on dry wet lease include 12 Boeing 737 while 4 airbus series 320-A while 3 aircraft airbus series 330-A.
Five aircrafts have been taken on dry lease from Ottawa leasing Limited company of Burmoda island which are not included in the air fleet of PIA.
The Burmoda company is located in island where more than 800 Pakistani influential including former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have hide their wealth.
It is worth-mentioning here that these 37 aircrafts have been taken on lease during the regime of former PM Nawaz Sharif from Turkish air companies in which financial embezzlement worth billions of rupees have revealed.
The National Accountability Bureau has decided to take action against responsible.
