Islamabad: MI and ISI could not file their report on Naqeeb Ullah murdersuo motu notice case despite Supreme Court (SC) orders.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took up Naqeeb Ullah extra judicial killing so motu notice case for hearing on Monday.
IG Sindh AD Khawaja appeared in the court.
CJP inquired from IG Sindh if any progress or success has been achieved in the arrest of Rao Anwar or otherwise.
IG Sindh replied DSP involved in Naqeeb Ullah murder case has been arrested but Rao Anwar is still at large.
CJP remarked “ we had provided to you assistance of all security agencies. Despite it why the accused has not been arrested so far. You can tell better. What assistance you sought from all security agencies.
IG Sindh told help was sought from all security agencies in tracing Rao Anwar. No progress has been made about whats app call of Rao Anwar.
Additional Attorney General (AAG) told report from Intelligence Bureau (IB) has been filed. According to this report, deputy director of IB is in contact with Sindh police investigation team. IB has reviewed technically phone calls of absconding accused.
CJP remarked there is nothing in IB report. Where is ISI report.
AAG told ISI report has not been received so far.
CJP inquired as to why ISI and MI report have not come. Explain it. He remarked Rao Anwar too holds Iqama.
Defence counsel Faisal Siddiqui said Rao Anwar bank accounts have been freezed.
CJP remarked “we see the court can give what orders more in this respect.
The court resumed hearing of the case after interval.
DAG said ISI and MI have cooperated with Sindh Police.
The CJP inquired as to why court’s orders have not been complied with.
Joint secretary told ISI and MI have sought time in connection with report. If one week is given then isi AND MI report would come.
The court also summoned report from FC about search of Rao Anwar.
CJP remarked if FC report does not come then the respective officer of the institution will be responsible.
“We are also saddened over death of Naqeeb Ullah Mehsood. There will be no politicking on this matter”.
Faisal Siddiqui requested that CCTV footage of Rao Anwar should be obtained from airport.
CJP remarked “we want presence of Rao Anwar is ensured. Identify him by obtaining footage. We have full trust on AD Khawaja. Report from FC, MI and ISI will come within a week. The matter of degrees pertaining to pilots will be heard separately.
DAG said degrees of pilots have been got verified from CAA. Airlines companies want to get verify degrees again. The companies are requested not to collect charges of re-verification of degrees.
The court ordered for not collecting charges for re-verification of degrees besides adjourning the hearing of the case indefinitely.
