ISLAMABAD: Elected representatives have described timely holding of Senate elections as a step toward strengthening of democracy in the country.

Talking to media persons in Islamabad on Saturday, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said Senate elections is yet another milestone in the democratic process.

He said conspiracy theories of failed politicians about Senate elections have vanished.

Talking to PTV, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb today marks a historic day for Pakistan as Senate elections have taken place on time.

In an interview, Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani said prosperity of the people is linked to the democratic system.

Pakistan Muslim League-Zia Chief Ijaz-ul-Haq said Senate elections is a giant step towards strengthening of democracy.

PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz termed conducting of senate elections as victory of democracy.

In an interview, he said PML-N under the leadership of Mian Nawaz Sharif started mega project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, completed the power projects and is constructing motorway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said in general elections people will vote for those who have delivered on their promises.
