SANGLA HILL: It is prerequisite to increase plantation net to save environment from different hazards including climate changes. This was stated by Chairman MC Sangla Hill Mr. Hassan Shah Nawaz Malhi.

He said that the forest net in the country is only four percent compared to international standards of 25 percent, provoking different complications including climate changes, and increasing pollution etc. He said that there is a need to create awareness among people about planting trees and end deforestation. He stressed upon the need to take the tangible steps with collective efforts on the part of all stakeholders.

He said, “We are producing skilled manpower. It is a lush green area and we are making it more greenish. He said if we would not pay attention to environment, the issue of climate changes will worsen in the years to come. “The Sangla Hill is the greenish area with small hill as someone enters this city; he feels 2-3C reduction in temperature.”, he said adding that that there were numerous benefits of planting trees, from health to environmental impact, economics and even psychological effects. He said planting trees helped surroundings improves, and reduce pollution. As per increased population against an individual grow plantations every year.

Chairman said, “We have called the meeting of all heads of Schools & Colleges in which it will be briefed to grow plant BY every student”.

He said MC has already grown plants along canal sides, green belt restoration, rose gardens.
