FAISALABAD: President FWCCI Mrs. Rubeena Amjad on Wednesday said that roadmap of Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FWCCI) has focused on female SME sector.

During a meeting with Dr. Khurram Zia Director ORIC (Office of the Research, Innovation and Commercialization), she said that FWCCI will conduct a comprehensive survey of girls schools particularly in Peri-urban areas in collaboration with ORIC. The objective of this survey is to identify the market driven skills which could be imparted to the girl students of the suburban schools so that they could start their own businesses immediately after completing their education.

She said that organic farming is very popular all over the world and our women should also exploit its potential to earn profit in addition to entering in the field of exports.

She said that there is dire need of value addition in agricultural sector and young girls must come forward to process and export their own branded products to international markets.

Regarding first Entrepreneur Festival Faisalabad (EFF) 2018, she said it was a unique experience for the young female entrepreneurs to showcase their products. However she said that FWCCI is actively considering a proposal to educate girls to learn the basic norms of entrepreneurship to become successful entrepreneurs.

Mrs. Amjad said that she also intends to work for the education and health of children with a focused approach on young girls.

Dr. Khurram Zia Director ORIC also appreciated the successful entrepreneurship festival held on January 19 in University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF). He said it helped to integrate the entrepreneurs in addition to sharing the basic facts about the skills of our entrepreneurs who are producing unmatched handicrafts without any technical or financial support.

He was also appreciative of the efforts of FWCCI and Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) who are bridging gap between manufacturers and end consumers.

He said that they have played a role of catalyst to inspire entrepreneurs to improve the quality of their products in addition to producing new and innovative products.

Dr .Khurram Zia also suggested a social integration program. In this program, the experts will impart young girls with necessary skills which are badly needed in suburban areas of Faisalabad like Munnia Wala and Gatwala.

Later he also presented a shield to Mrs. Rubeena Amjad President FWCCI in recognition of her services for the uplift of female entrepreneurs.

During this meeting Miss Iqra Qadeer Secretary General FWCCI and Miss Hania Mudassar Assistant Manager Women X program were also present.
