Mirpur: (Parliament Times) Former prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and president Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Kashmir chapter) Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chudhary while expressing dissatisfaction over the PML-N government’s policy on Kashmir has said that dismayed over the federal government’s dismal performance on Kashmir, Kashmiris have ultimately decided to take the necessary measures to promote and project Kashmir issue at international level.
He said this while addressing district Mirpur Bar Association here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion Barrister Chudhary said that over the past five months he had undertaken six foreign tours to sensitize international community about the early solution of Kashmir dispute. He said that the world community was well aware of Indian and Pakistan’s stance on the issue of Kashmir and now they want to listen from Kashmiris.
About the state identity of the liberated territory of Azad Kashmir he said that people of the region won’t tolerate any kind of disrespect to its identity. “Our apex court judges’ appointment is made in Pakistan, which is tantamount to insulting the intellect of Kashmiris”, he said adding that how come the Prime Minister of Pakistan knows which one among Kashmiri lawyers is more competitive and intelligent than another. “Chief secretary, IG, and secretary finance are being imposed on us by the federal government and even worse is that grade 20 officers from Pakistan are being posted on grade 21 posts in Azad Kashmir bureaucracy”, he said. Terming it as travesty of justice he wondered as which kind of justice and which kind of law it was?
The PTI president said that he would fight for the rights of the people of Mirpur and will raise voice in favour of them at all available forums. Barrister Chudhary also assured the lawyers that he would utilize his all out efforts to address the problems faced by the community. He appreciated the Mirpur Bar Association for playing vital role in seeking rights of the people of Mirpur.
