Four Pakistani soldiers were martyred in result of unprovoked firing by Indian forces along Line of Control on Monday.

According to press release by Inter Services Public Relations, the Indian Border Forces started firing at Kotli and Jandrot Sectors along LoC. The Pakistani forces gave befitting reply and killed three Indian soldiers while several were injured, ISPR mentioned. The military media wing further said that Indian forces started firing when Pakistani soldiers were working on boundary line. Indian forces used heavy mortar and also targeted the civilians. Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal says India will not succeed in silencing Kashmiris’ voice through military means. He said this during an interview while responding to Indian Army Chief’s threatening statements. The spokesperson said the only solution to Kashmir issue is to hold an UN-sponsored plebiscite in the occupied territory as promised in the resolutions of the Security Council. Dr Muhammad Faisal said recent statements emanating from India indicate New Delhi’s frustration as their coercive policies are not working. Pakistan has asked India not to spread war hysteria amid peace efforts by the doves from both the sides. According to a media report India was contacted through diplomatic channels to protest against Indian Army Chief’s irresponsible statement wherein he dared Pakistan to a nuclear encounter.

He had told reporters in New Delhi the other day that Indian army was ready to call Pakistan’s ‘nuclear bluff’ and violate the border to carry out any operation inside Pakistan. Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and military spokesperson Maj-Gen Asif had given a shut-up call to India soon after General Rawat’s statement. Both of them urged India not to underestimate Pakistan’s conventional and non-conventional military strength. The Pakistan army also criticised the Indian general’s comments, reiterating that its nuclear weapons had deterred India’s massive army from launching another conventional war against Pakistan. Pakistan has been trying to engage India in dialogue to defuse tension but India is defiant to stay away from the talks table. New Delhi is also not ready to discuss Kashmir, the core issue between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. India had never shown seriousness to resolve all outstanding issues including the Kashmir issue which was a threat to peace in the region. India must avoid such the provocative and aggressive statements against Pakistan. The people of Pakistan stand by the valiant armed forces to give a befitting response to any aggression. The Government should take these developments seriously and take up this matter at all international forum and expose the malicious intent and aggressive role of India.
