Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan, has said despite India’s malicious intrigues and use of brute force by its occupation forces, the people of the Indian Occupied Kashmir will attain their freedom.

The AJK president made these remarks while meeting various delegations which called on him here on Tuesday. The President said that the Government of AJK has set its eyes on infrastructure development, construction, good governance and aspires to make Azad Kashmir a success story within this region. It is our collective aspiration to share the dividends of our success with the people of AJK and Pakistan, he said.

Deputy Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Farooq Tahir, Member Legislative Assembly Sehrish Qamar and senior APHC leaders, Ghulam Muhammad Safi and Muhammad Faiz Naqshbandi during their call on meetings apprised the President of the ongoing situation in IOK and presented their recommendations for raising the profile of the Kashmir issue at the international stage.

President AJK said that on the direction of India’s fanatic Prime Minister Narendra Modi, RAW and other Indian intelligence agencies are attempting to destabilize Pakistan and investing massive resources by directly sponsoring terrorist activities in various regions of Pakistan. “We will never allow India to succeed in their pernicious designs”, said President Masood Khan.

Sardar Masood Khan said that Indian spy agencies are now targeting to create discontent among the people of AJK, Gilgit Baltistan and the Pak-Kashmiri diaspora. Their aim, he said, is to weaken the principled stance of the people of Kashmir and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue and an attempt at creating discord among our ranks. “The brave and courageous people of AJK, Occupied Kashmir and Pakistan have pledged to undermine these attempts”, vowed the President.

The President said that the leadership and people of Kashmir and Pakistan must stay vigilant and resist falling prey to the distorted Indian narrative.

President Masood Khan said that since 1947, AJK has achieved great success in the fields of infrastructure development, education and hydropower generation.

He said that today AJK is the most literate region of Pakistan and our efforts will continue till we make AJK the economic engine in the region. But our ambition is to develop our region and make it competitive so that it meets the requirements of our citizens for jobs, businesses, education, health and women’s empowerment, said the President. He said an economic revolution is unfolding in AJK and the focus is on laying down new road networks, modernizing existing roads, quadrupling our energy production in the coming decade, improving the quality of education, enhancing tourism, and augmenting industrial and agricultural productivity.

The President said that with the formal inclusion of AJK in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, two hydropower projects with a combined output of 1840 MW, a Special Economic Zone in Mirpur and an Expressway which will connect the whole of AJK with the main artery of CPEC route at Mansehra have been designated exclusively for AJK.

President AJK while conversing with APHC delegation commended the commitment and courage of APHC leaders Syed Ali Gillani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yaseen Malik and Shabbir Shah for their resolve in the face of perpetual persecution by the Indian Occupation forces. He added that arbitrary arrest of Asiya Andrabi and Musrat Alam Butt must end. He condemned the dishonoring of womenfolk, killing and maiming of the innocent Kashmiris taking place in IOK. The President said that India is using brute force and its RSS violent extremists are terrorizing the people of IOK.

President AJK said that sane voices in India are being raised against Modi’s extremist government. Chidambaram, Former Finance Minister of India, has admitted that the Modi government’s “hard, muscular and militaristic” approach in IOK is not a solution for the “long-pending dispute of accession”.

The President paid his tribute to the courageous young cricket players arrested in Bandipora district who despite the draconian restraints in IOK wore Pakistani flag uniforms and started off the match with the national anthem of Pakistan. “These are the true sentiments of the people of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.

President Masood Khan said that by the will of Allah, under the flag of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir we will ensure that the people of IOK will attain their right to self-determination.
