ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has ordered for appointing judges on vacant posts in accountability courts all over the country.

A two members bench of SC presided over by Justice Gulzar Ahmad took up for hearing appointment of NAB prosecutor general case Monday.

The court after hearing the arguments from both sides ordered for appointing judges on the vacant posts in accountability court all over the country and sought report from law secretary within two weeks.

Attorney general has sought time of one week for appointment of Prosecutor General (PG) NAB.

Attorney general said during the hearing of the case that PG will be appointed within a week. Nominations have not been sent for filling the vacant posts in accountability court. I will contact Chief Justice Islamabad High Court on nominations. Judge in accountability court Islamabad will be appointed within 10 days.

Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked lack of planning is bad luck of our country. Who is responsible for delay in appointment of PG. Appointment is being delayed deliberately to give benefit to some one. Several works of the institution stand suspended due to non appointment of PG.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa inquired why law ministry does not fulfill its responsibility. The process of appointment should be started 2 months before retirement of a judge. If one judge retires then the second should assume the office in the court .
