Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said that the investment of trillions of rupees in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other CPEC affiliated projects will usher Pakistan and AJK into new era of progress and prosperity.

The AJK PM made these remarks while addressing 7th meeting of the Joint Working Group of CPEC here on Tuesday. Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal was also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion the Prime Minister said that CPEC was game changer not only for Pakistan but for the whole region. “All our coming generations would be benefited from this Economic Corridor. CPEC is a gigantic project of prosperity and development of Pakistan which has become a reality and lots of subsidiary schemes were being carried out across the country”, he maintained.

“I’m thankful to president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the inclusion of AJK in CPEC project”, the PM said adding that under CPEC AJK had got an economic zone including the construction of roads at Mirpur, Mangla, Muzafarabad and Mansehra. “The speedy completion of CPEC related projects is Pakistan’s priority and these projects would change the destiny of the nation,” he remarked.
He said that One Belt One Road Project was big breakthrough for bringing East and West closer for economic prosperity. He said the economic development in AJK was the aim of his government while moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris’ just struggle would continue until the liberation of occupied territory.

Meanwhile Raja Farooq Haider Khan held informal meetings with chief minister (CM) of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah,CM Khyber Pukhton Khawa Pervez Khattack,CM Blochistan Sana Ullah Zahri,CM Gilgit Baltastan Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman on the occasion and discussed with them the matters of mutual interest and overall political situation of the country.

Earlier the meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of KPK, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab Mnister for Planning and Development.
