Rawalpindi : Punjab’s Minister for Labor and Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has urged the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) to promote country’s natural resources and tourism treasures over the media across the world, so that tourists will grow in the country.
He said this while talking to Managing Director of PTDC Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor who called on him in his office. UK-based Pakistani investor Javed Mujahid, was also present in the meeting.
He said that tourism sites in Pakistan are not less than any other country in beauty and individualism adding that only accurate promotion can bring fruitful results.
The Minister assured that recommendations presented by PTDC would not be tabled at provincial but at federal level also so that all possible help could be provided.
MD, PTDC during the meeting told Minister that since his assumption of charge, he has categorized tourism in different sector where religious tourism is on the top of the priorities.
He further told the Minister that there are several projects for the development of tourism are available in the country. These schemes include Bus Terminal in the Nankana Sahib, the establishment of motels in the Hawks Bay Karachi, Moenjodaro, Baran Kalay (KP) and tourist facilitation centres in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, Quetta and Peshawar.
