Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat conference has said that Kashmir is a political dispute and needs to be resolved as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people but India is following the policy of oppression and suppression in the territory.
Commenting on the statement of Secretary of Communist Party of India (Marxist), D Raja that Kashmir being a political issue should be resolved politically, the APHC spokesman said, “It is our firm belief that Kashmir is a political issue and people’s freedom sentiments cannot be suppressed through military might.”
“We also want a peaceful and sustainable solution to this issue,” the spokesman said in a statement and added that development, prosperity, peace and security in the region can be guaranteed if the dispute is resolved through peaceful means and it will also save the region from destruction and devastation resulting out of conflict between two nuclear countries.
The APHC said it is their power of arrogance that authorities in New Delhi are hell bent upon strangulating every genuine voice through bullying and repressive approach.
The spokesman urged Indian people to ask their rulers to change their repressive approach against the people of Jammu and Kashmir and find an amicable solution to the Kashmir dispute.
D Raja while talking to media persons in New Delhi had said that BJP was using brutal measures and suggested that Kashmir being a political issue should be resolved through political means.
Meanwhile, the APHC expressed deep concern over the increasing braid chopping incidents and said it has given rise to scare and fear-psychosis as of now incidents of burglary and stone pelting by miscreants at night are also haunting innocent people.
