Islamabad: World Food Day will be observed on Monday (today) throughout the world including Pakistan.
The objective of the day is to create awareness among the masses pertaining to the elements in the backdrop of poverty and hunger.
In this context various functions will be organized under the patronage of social organizations, food and agriculture departments.
Among others, food experts will make deliberations on the paucity of food and the problems facing the agriculture industry.
World Food Day is observed every year on October 16 under the auspices of UN.
According to a report more than one billion people in the world are facing shortage of food. However, in Pakistan due to price hike Pakistanis have been forced to expend 70 percent of their income on food.
